Camp Diary

With great excitement we have begun our first freshers camp, with the youngest of the Csányi’s at Sarlóspuszta (19-23 June).

1st day – After long hours of driving, we were extremely glad to arrive to our lovely accomodation. The camp is oriented towards classes in subjects Drama, and TOK. The highlight of the day was the swearing in of this years freshers and had a cheers on them. We explored the boundaries of our hotel, and had a quick match of football. For those who chose not to play football, dancing, and tennis. Our first day at the camp gave us many moments to remember for a life.

2-3. days

As inhabitans of the the Sarlospuszta freshers camp, we have gotten through two days of adventure.

The morning class of drama and TOK  have been a great oppurtunity to start of the day with good vibes and to get to know eachother better. Yesterday afternoon we had multiple activities: Farm Olympics where we competed to see who is best, after all of us went to cool down in the pool. The day was then finished off with a friendly match of football. Today after our morning classes we went out to visit a nearby farm, to see the animals and to experience life on a farm. It was a really hot day, so we could not skip paying a visit to the pool. In the night hours we went out to the nearby forest to play number war. We are very excited to experience the coming day.

During the camps last two days, along side the educational classes we have got ourselves through some tough adventures. After finishing at the bottom level of the rope course, we then progressed to the top level of the course to take part in zip lining across the courses multiple tower bases. Each fresher showed their braveness through the course and just as big of a challange the heat was, we beat it all. In the afternoon we went inside to cool down and to watch the animational film ’Little Princess’. The night was then finished off with a match of football.

Friday we started our morning off with a quick morning exercise and then procceded to Léghajo programme which is an introduction to the basics of first aid. In the afternoon we had an arts and crafts activity, where the boys learned how to make kites and the girls learned how to make bracelets. The highlight of the day to most was swimming in the pool where most were glad to cool down after another very hot day. The camps closing game was a team building trivia game set up by our small mentors. The girls have been preparing a dance through the whole week and were very excited to show their peers. At night we packed our bags with our personal belongings and our memories, which we have made many of. There will be many stories to be told at home.
