On October 5, 2024, Group 2 from Nagybajom held its Family Day at the B\u0151sz\u00e9nfa Deer Farm. At 9:00 AM, children, siblings, and parents boarded a bus in front of the Nagybajom Community House. Everyone was excited for the event since, as it turned out, almost no one had visited this location before. After purchasing the entrance tickets, we immediately joined a guided tour where we could walk among the deer. We enticed the braver ones closer with pieces of bread rolls, and we were even able to pet them. Our guide provided information about the yearlong life cycle of fallow deer, and we learned about the differences between fallow and red deer. When does the mating season start? What is “barcog\u00e1s”? What is the difference between antlers and horns? We even spotted some sika deer.<\/p>\n

The B\u0151sz\u00e9nfa Deer Farm is located in the Zselic Hills, covering 1,360 hectares and home to about 1,100 deer, making it the largest deer breeding farm in Hungary. In addition to deer, the farm also breeds native domestic animals, such as buffalos, horses, and donkeys. During the wildlife park tour, we saw mallard ducks, Mangalica pigs, goats, geese, and peacocks. After lunch, we visited the exhibition titled “The Big Game of Zselic.” The interactive display allowed us to closely observe antlers and trophies. The weather was also on our side, allowing us to enjoy a fantastic trip together with our children and fellow parents. A big thank you to the Foundation for making this opportunity possible for us!
