Bird ringing is a staple program of our nature and language camp in K\u0151szeg. The location is the T\u00f6m\u00f6rd Bird Observatory, where our supported participants not only learned about the process of capturing birds but also got hands-on experience with ringing and even held the birds themselves.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the T\u00f6m\u00f6rd Bird Observatory ringed 149 individuals from 25 species and recorded 51 recaptures from 20 species. The three most commonly ringed species this year were the European robin, blackcap, and chiffchaff. (<em>Source: Mad\u00e1rt\u00e1vlat<\/em> magazine, Winter 2024 issue).<\/p>\n<p>We are proud to have enriched young people&#8217;s camp experiences with such programs for over 10 years. In addition to bird ringing, participants explore and study the region&#8217;s plant life, isolate DNA from bananas, conduct river sampling and measurement, and visit landmarks such as \u00cdrott-k\u0151 and H\u00e9tforr\u00e1s.
