The time has come for us to hold our usual end-of-year celebration and evaluation event at the Community House in Nagybajom. The Saturday began with the usual arrivals, followed by a football match with our volunteer \u00c1d\u00e1m Balogh and our university students M\u00e1rton Gelencs\u00e9r, Benedek Kov\u00e1cs, and Zal\u00e1n Gy\u0151z\u0151. The one hour of play flew by quickly. Szabolcs Szarka and Evelin Buzs\u00e1ki carried the winning team on their backs.<\/p>\n

Upon returning to the Community House, it was time for the annual awards announcement. Zal\u00e1n Gy\u0151z\u0151 presented the detailed results to the children. The Pineapple Award, established three years ago, is given to the group member who showed the most motivation during the 2024\/25 school year. This year, T\u00edmea Bogd\u00e1n proved to be the most engaged young participant. Afterwards, we enjoyed watermelon, watched a movie, and roasted bacon over a fire.<\/p>\n

After having ice cream, we reached a truly special event, but only the most interested participants stayed to witness it. Organized by the Kaposv\u00e1r local group of the Hungarian Ornithological and Nature Conservation Society (MME), with the help of Kriszti\u00e1n Geibl and Andr\u00e1s Szentp\u00e1li, we had the chance to ring three young white storks in the nest located in the main square of Nagybajom. We could closely observe the professional bird ringing and listen to a detailed explanation of why this is such an important conservation activity, as it provides vital data on bird migration and lifestyle.”<\/p>\n
