On June 20, we held a welcome day with the freshmen who were selected in March.
We gathered a day earlier to prepare for the arrival of the \u201cLittle Ones.\u201d The boys tidied up the rooms, put together quiz questions, and picked raspberries from the garden of the Community House for the dessert. Meanwhile, we girls baked treats to offer a warm welcome to the newcomers.<\/p>\n

As the first kids from Szentes arrived, we started playing board games, drawing, and playing table football while waiting for the others to arrive from the countryside with Ms. M\u00e1rti. Once everyone got comfortable in the bean bags, we\u2014being the older ones\u2014introduced ourselves first: we shared which schools we attend, what we study, our hobbies, why it\u2019s great to be part of the Foundation, and what camps we usually participate in. Then it was the younger ones\u2019 turn to talk about themselves\u2014some more confidently, others a bit shy and reserved.<\/p>\n

We learned a lot about one another, especially the younger students. They listened to us attentively, and we did the same with them. After that, we enjoyed the baked goods we had prepared the day before, which everyone had been eagerly waiting for.<\/p>\n

The boys set up for the Kahoot<\/em> quiz competition. We played two different Kahoot games, which everyone loved\u2014so we\u2019ll definitely continue using this format with them. The afternoon continued with a shared pizza lunch.<\/p>\n

The last activity of the day was pairing up the study partners. Everyone was happy with their match, and we\u2019re really looking forward to working together!<\/p>\n

We wrapped up a beautiful day, and the freshmen headed home in great spirits, with lots of stories to tell.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, we visited the M\u00f3ra Ferenc Museum in Szeged for the Night of Museums.
At the museum, we explored the fascinating and visually striking exhibition titled \u201cThe Mysterious Ice Age.\u201d<\/em> The first part of the exhibition displayed archaeological finds that illustrated Ice Age animals and helped us learn about the daily lives and habits of the people who lived back then.<\/p>\n

A highlight was a darkened room where cave paintings were projected onto the walls, creating a truly special atmosphere.<\/p>\n

Another exhibition focused on the life and work of Ferenc M\u00f3ra, the museum\u2019s namesake. It was made even more exciting by interactive elements that brought the displays to life.<\/p>\n

Afterward, we climbed up to the museum\u2019s rooftop lookout, which offered a beautiful view of the D\u00f3m (Cathedral) and the Tisza River.<\/p>\n

From there, we headed to the Black House<\/em>, where we visited the PszichArt24<\/em> exhibition showcasing artwork by psychiatric patients. We also viewed \u201cHistory Written with a Brush,\u201d<\/em> an exhibit about the life and art of Viktor Madar\u00e1sz and his daughter Adeline Madar\u00e1sz. Alongside their paintings, many personal items were on display\u2014such as the family\u2019s tin and bronze pitchers, hand-painted porcelain plates, and even excerpts from Adeline\u2019s letters.<\/p>\n

After that, we returned to the museum for the light show. With musical accompaniment, various Ice Age animals and humans were projected onto the museum’s fa\u00e7ade.<\/p>\n

This stunning display brought our Night of Museums experience to a memorable close.<\/p>\n
