The newcomers (\u201cfreshmen\u201d) who have just joined the Foundation not only gained new learning strategies but also, from the very beginning, placed special emphasis on the following principles:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"312\" data-end=\"995\">\n<li data-start=\"312\" data-end=\"366\">\n<p data-start=\"314\" data-end=\"366\">We learn by <strong data-start=\"326\" data-end=\"363\">helping and accepting one another<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"367\" data-end=\"454\">\n<p data-start=\"369\" data-end=\"454\">We treat our peers, teachers, mentors, and the Foundation\u2019s staff <strong data-start=\"435\" data-end=\"451\">with respect<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"455\" data-end=\"517\">\n<p data-start=\"457\" data-end=\"517\">We <strong data-start=\"460\" data-end=\"483\">focus our attention<\/strong> on the tasks we are working on.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"518\" data-end=\"562\">\n<p data-start=\"520\" data-end=\"562\">We <strong data-start=\"523\" data-end=\"559\">re-evaluate our system of values<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"563\" data-end=\"635\">\n<p data-start=\"565\" data-end=\"635\">We <strong data-start=\"568\" data-end=\"603\">develop our learning motivation<\/strong> according to our inner needs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"636\" data-end=\"696\">\n<p data-start=\"638\" data-end=\"696\">We <strong data-start=\"641\" data-end=\"654\">set goals<\/strong> and break them down into smaller steps.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"697\" data-end=\"746\">\n<p data-start=\"699\" data-end=\"746\">It is important to <strong data-start=\"718\" data-end=\"743\">get to know ourselves<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"747\" data-end=\"798\">\n<p data-start=\"749\" data-end=\"798\">We must learn to <strong data-start=\"766\" data-end=\"785\">see the essence<\/strong> of things.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"799\" data-end=\"844\">\n<p data-start=\"801\" data-end=\"844\">The way we <strong data-start=\"812\" data-end=\"833\">express ourselves<\/strong> matters.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"845\" data-end=\"900\">\n<p data-start=\"847\" data-end=\"900\">We <strong data-start=\"850\" data-end=\"897\">refine our speaking and presentation skills<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"901\" data-end=\"995\">\n<p data-start=\"903\" data-end=\"995\">Most importantly, we learn to <strong data-start=\"933\" data-end=\"992\">work together in a way that allows everyone to
