The relationship began at the First LEGO League competition in Sydney in 2024, when the Jász-Stones team befriended their competitors. After lengthy preparations, team leader Henning Scheid managed to organize a trip for his team to visit us for a joint program. After their long journey, our guests began their tour of Jászság the next day at the Jász Museum, where they saw Lehel’s horn and the museum’s own innovation, which was a metal detector location app and the associated satellite system. This was followed by a professional visit to Konkoly Electro, where they gained insight into the manufacture of electronic components by learning about CNC and automated systems. The factory tour was conducted in their native language, thanks to Anett Konkoly-Szappanos. The highlight of the visit was an automatic forklift, which is a robot that works with scanners and can do the work of up to three people in a day. After a lunch of Hungarian dishes, the two teams got to know each other and began their work. The teams competed against each other on the Lego track, then discussed their mistakes and possible improvements.

Jász-Stones team

On Wednesday morning, the German team relaxed at the Cegléd spa, and in the afternoon, we worked with the German team for the second time. We felt it was important for both teams to practice teamwork and adapt to each other. Therefore, we decided to come up with a joint problem-solving task, similar to the FLL competitions. We mixed the two teams to create two mixed groups. Both groups had to solve two or three more complex course elements. It was very interesting to see from the outside how quickly and naturally the teams began to work together, even though they had never had the opportunity to work on this type of task before. They solved the task quickly and efficiently, and then we went out for dinner. After dinner, to help the two teams bond a little more and to relax after the afternoon’s work, we went bowling, which everyone really enjoyed.”

Zsolt Kovács, Jászság Group 4

“On Thursday, the program continued with a tour of Budapest. First, we visited the Puskás Arena, then we learned about the lives of Ferenc Puskás and his teammates at the museum through an interactive exhibition with a guided tour in English. In the afternoon, at the request of our German guests, we visited an official Lego store, where we saw the latest Lego toys. After that, with András as our guide, we went up to Buda Castle, where we learned about the castle’s brief history, then walked to the Parliament across the Chain Bridge, and finally went to St. Stephen’s Basilica, where we mingled at this year’s Christmas market. We stopped several times along the way to learn about the historical background of the main sights. In the exhibition space below the Parliament, we guided our German guests through an informative historical exhibition presenting the main events in Hungary’s history. It got dark during our walk, so we were able to stroll among the beautifully lit buildings.

Anna Maja Sas, Jászság Group 4

On Friday, the HFG Robos team left Budapest to return home, but their team leader assured us that they would host us at their school next year.

András Gál, mentor

“My students and I had a wonderful, varied, and productive time in Jászberény, Hungary. We are very grateful to your Foundation for supporting the two LEGO teams—without this, such a trip would have been very difficult for my school team to realize. Thank you for everything! It was a wonderful experience! The Hungarian students made a particularly deep impression on me and my team. Our relationship with them was cordial, and our collaboration was productive and enjoyable. I felt that the Hungarian students really enjoyed being part of the organization. This is certainly a testament to the excellent work of the mentors at the community center in Jászberény.

Henning Scheid, HFG Robos team leader, teacher

On November 17, 2025, the German LEGO robotics team HFG Robos visited Hungary and stayed at the Jászberény Community Center….

[1

post-114480","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-egyeb
["GET
