<\/p>\n
“A poem is that which must be spoken”<\/em> \u2013 we chose this thought by S\u00e1ndor K\u00e1ny\u00e1di as our motto,<\/span> and we did so with joy,<\/span> courage,<\/span> faith,<\/span> and commitment on the last weekend of February,<\/span> organized by the Kaposv\u00e1r Community House of the Cs\u00e1nyi Foundation with the cooperation of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences.<\/span><\/p>\n 4-16-53-102-10-11-21-2-1-5<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n And what do these numbers cover?<\/span><\/p>\n Four<\/strong> years ago,<\/span> we started with 16<\/strong> poetry lovers; now,<\/span> 53<\/strong> people applied for the Cs\u00e1nyi Foundation’s IV.<\/span> Poem and Prose Recitation Festival,<\/span> where more than a hundred<\/strong> participants listened to poems set to music and freely chosen poems,<\/span> mostly selected from Hungarian literature,<\/span> which were evaluated with high professionalism by the 10<\/strong>-member jury.<\/span> Among the judges,<\/span> there were those who had served as professional evaluators multiple times,<\/span> and there was someone who participated in the challenging task of evaluation as an Alumni member.<\/span> Every Community House of the Foundation delegated a reciter.<\/span> We made this year’s festival open to our partner institutions in Kaposv\u00e1r,<\/span> so poetry lovers arrived from the Munk\u00e1csy and T\u00e1ncsics High Schools and the E\u00f6tv\u00f6s Lor\u00e1nd Technical School.<\/span> Our Transylvanian partners participated as returning guests again this year,<\/span> from Covasna and Harghita counties.<\/span> The Truba-moll band also arrived from the latter location,<\/span> giving a festival-opening concert of poems set to music on Friday evening.<\/span> The three-day poetry celebration consisted of 11<\/strong> program elements:<\/span> from competition programs to four types of creative workshops where the reciters could train themselves:<\/span> in one,<\/span> actors led a craft lesson; in the second,<\/span> experiential painting took place using the poems; in the third,<\/span> stage movement took the lead; and in the fourth,<\/span> young musicians and the invited Truba-moll band played music together lightheartedly.<\/span> Before the competition programs,<\/span> actors and a drama teacher jointly led speech techniques,<\/span> movement,<\/span> and cooperation-oriented drama games in the “tuning-in” session as help before the recitations.<\/span> The youth performance of <\/span>Cyber Cyrano<\/i> by the Csiky Gergely Theatre could not be missed either.<\/span> On the old wooden bridge of Deseda,<\/span> we sang our mascot song together,<\/span> Radn\u00f3ti’s poem <\/span>B\u00e1jol\u00f3<\/i> set to music by Szab\u00f3 Bal\u00e1zs Band\u00e1ja,<\/span> and we enjoyed the spring sunshine and each other’s company with sometimes cheerful,<\/span> sometimes deep conversations.<\/span> Throughout every part of the program,<\/span> a strong community was palpable,<\/span> present with heart and soul from preparation through execution to post-production,<\/span> with 21<\/strong> people active.<\/span><\/p>\n At this year’s festival,<\/span> we established an award:<\/span> the Tulip Tree Award serves the memory of our beloved drama teacher,<\/span> “Uncle” Zoli Papp,<\/span> for outstandingly high-quality,<\/span> unique,<\/span> and special poetry recitation,<\/span> and a total of only two<\/strong> reciters can receive it (one<\/strong> per age group).<\/span><\/p>\n The jury evaluated the performances very seriously (and strictly); in their assessment,<\/span> they mentioned how joyfully they noted the perceptible development in performance style; the choice of poems this year was commendably exciting and broad,<\/span> surely preceded by serious literary research.<\/span> “The current evaluations reflect the momentary presence,<\/span> development is continuous,<\/span> and maintaining the results can also be a challenge in the future” \u2013 summarized one of our judges in the evaluation.<\/span><\/p>\n Thank you for being with us as jury members:<\/span> Val\u00e9ria Skoda,<\/span> Hanga Martos,<\/span> Hanna Sz\u00e9p,<\/span> Attila Bal\u00e1zs,<\/span><\/em> T\u00edmea Magyar<\/em> in the younger age group;
