On the long and joyful way we could spectate the breath taking Transylvanian landscape. Having arrived, we have been to a very modern restaurant in Csíkszereda. On the first day we had the opportunity to taste traditional local food. We liked them very much. The following part of the evening we were having a rest.

Sebők Marcell, Feil Gergő, Szeged 1

2nd day: Down in the mine

After a delicious breakfast, we visited a hundred-year-old saltmine in Parajd. During the trip we could participate in a famous market in Korond. We were amazed when we saw that it is not an ordinry salt mine, rather an underground adventure park. After having lunch, we moved on to Szováta, to the beautiful and breathe-catching Bear Lake. We went for a walk around in. After we took a break and visited the birthplace of Áron Tamási in Farkaslaka. There we were given a smaller presentation. The man had a colloquial pronounciation, which were heavily liked by us. At the end of that joyful day we had a dinner and we returned to our accomodation.

Somogyi Márk, Lakatos Patrik, Szeged 1

3rd day Famous places In Csíkszereda

Today we spent the day with visiting the famous places in and around Csíkszereda. The bus took us to Csíksomlyó after breakfast where we admired the church which is the symbol of Hungarians. Csíksomlyó pilgrimage is the most important occasion of togetherness of Hungarian people all around the world. Then we walked to Márton Áron Secondary School to Csíkszereda. Besides a lot of famous people Piroska learned there too. The director showed us the beautiful secession style building and told interesting stories about the school. We continued the day with playing bumperball. Anybody had the chance to try this new, so far unknown sport. In spite of the hot weather almost everyone tried it. We spent the part of the afternoon in the swimming pool, then went to see the famous Csontváry exhibition. In the evening the groups rapturously barracked for the Hungarian team and after the match they returned satifyed to the accommodation.

Baloghné Tóth Szilvia, volunteer

On the fourth day of our camp here in Csíkszereda we visited the Békás-szoros.
We left after breakfast and enjoyed the view of the beautiful mountains during the travel. The River Békás, running through the Valley fastly is an important and fascinating tourist attraction. Having a longer troll and a delicious traditional local bakery, we aimed Lake Gyilkos which we explored in boats with some difficulties. One of the many interesting facts in connection with the lake is that it waa created by erosion – that’s why broken pines are visible even today in the water, providing a bit deppressing still a spectacular view.
After such an exciting day we’re really looking forward tó the following program.

Anna Benczúr, Turucki Szabolcs, group 2 of Szeged

Sixth day: Thousand-year old Border

Today, on the last day, we headed to the Thousand-year old Border, which lies at the bottom exit of the valley of Gyimes. The terrain was spectacular as usual, because the most beautiful valley of the Csíki Mountains was in sight. Another interesting event was that we could get in a view from the land of Csángó people. The local people alleged that the ancestors fled from military service to this area. We visited a private collection of railway artefacts running by an old gentleman from Gyimes, with a little help, but with much bigger obsession. It was shown by that little amount of soil which was collected from all the 64 old counties of Hungary, or the schedule from the Hungarian-Austrian monarchy. That little lookout had even more secret, to be honest a smaller wonder. A bunker from the II. World War, which were giving home to a part of the engine of an American B-24 bomber plane, and for weapons and bullets. Of course our groupmate, Zsolti gave us some information again for which we are thankful. At the end of the day we gathered and had a tasty Transylvanian dinner. The top of everything was the consuming of a cake decorated with the Székely flag, which I think was a good ending of that interesting historical camp with loads of exciting programmes, and the lifestyle of the Transylvanian people made the journey unforgettable.

Brúnó Faragó, Bence Gábor, Szeged 1

Sorry, this entry is only available in Magyar.

[1,8

post-1709","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-egyeb","category-szeged
["GET
