They were very excited and they knew a lot of things about Brazil. We had a nice time together. Today I also had an interview with an Hungarian newspaper by telephone. They asked me about my personal experiences and about my impressions as a volunteer at the Csányi Foundation. It was a new experience but a very good one for me.Thank you for everything.

On the 11th of February I went to the monthly mentor’s meeting in Kaposvár. Here I had an opportunity to meet again the mentors I’ve met in Mohács and Pécs (Erika, Gergő, Andrea, Edina, Luca. I also could meet the other ones I haven’t met before. I was very glad about it. There I met Adam (a new Csányi volunteer and traniee who’s working with some administrative tasks), Klementina (a Csányi member from Kaposvár) and her friend, Fatime. We had a great, funny day together. We talked a lot, walked around in the city and we ate a lot of sweets because it was Klemi’s birthday.

On the 10th of February I made my first presentation for the group of Szeged 3. The kids were interested, they asked a lot of questions and they could answer to my questions. The group was shy but very lovely. I had to encurage them to speak. After my presentation as I do I brought bigadeiro and lemon mousse (typical brazilian sweets). They really loved it! (especially Tamas he got addicted because of the sweets, so cute) Before the lesson I played football with Denes and Zoli -it was very funny. I saw that they really liked the game and know everything about the brazillian footballers. After the lesson I took the children to home with Zoli . I’m looking forward to meeting with them on Saturday.

The 9th February was a good day! I went to the supermarket with Zoli to buy some food, then I went with the students to the school where they took an IT exam. It was an interesting experience seeing them in a brand new exam situation. They were very shy, but nice! Following that, I met the other part of the group at the Móra Ferenc Museum and we visited some exhibitions, regarding Hungarian coins, the Little Prince and Africa. It was incredible! (Except the moment when I was recording a video of the animals and I got really scared because of the roar of the leopard :D) I’m happy because we had more indirect conversations where they told me about which sports they practice and which other languages they are learning 🙂

This is my second morning here in Szeged. On 8th February I went with Zoli for sighseeing in the downtown. As I have expected: I loved the whole town! Brazil is something different – Szeged is so charming, like Mohács, Pécs and Budapest. 🙂 We walked along the Tisza river, and was amazed by the beautiful landscape (Zoli told me that a few years ago there was a flood – I hardly can imagine that) and we have also seen the Dom, the Serbian church, the fountain on the main square, the Faculties of University in Szeged – I loved the architecture of all the buildings. In the afternoon, the students and I visited the “House of Knowledge” 🙂 a place where we could see several species and observed some body parts by a microscope. It was very interesting! I am glad that all of the students tried hard explaining to me waht I observed through the microscope. Finishing the day, I dined with them eating a Kebab 🙂

Today on the 7th of February I met the other mentors (with Piroska and Péter) and some of the students. They were very nice and I think their english is great! Some of them also learn spanish, so we could talk a few sentences. Then we went to Budapest to see an exhibition about the space ☺ I was impressed! Because the replicas of the first rockets and the space station were incredible and interesting. We saw some space clothes and we also experienced how things work there for example: what kind of food they eat and how they use the toilet. I have a few days left in Szeged but I’m sure I’m going to have a great time here.

On the 6th of February I was lucky to visit the Buso festival. It was fabulous I loved it really much and I could meet my friends from Mohács.

Bianca Frota Torres, AIESEC volunteer from Brazil

Bianca Frota Torres

Sorry, this entry is only available in Magyar.

[1,8

post-2059","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-egyeb","category-szeged
["GET
