On the 6th of November guest professor Ellen Litwicki PhD from New York University of Fredonia, New York spent her afternoon with us to talk about Halloween, its roots and about The Day of the Dead and how these events are celebrated around the world. Did you know that Halloween has European roots as well? Or years before the well-known phrase \u2018Trick or treat\u2019 pranks sometimes were closer to vandalism than to tricks. Thus town principals tried to control kids\u2019 and sometimes adults\u2019 tricks to a normal level. Today, festivals, parties and of course, candies are the most notable elements of Halloween.
