First we went through the castle with a tour guide. We visited the whole castle, even under the ground. The tour guide’s presentation was very interesting, so no one got bored. In the end we participated in a quiz about the Castle of Eger. We were very exhausted because of the travelling, so we were happy that we could relax in the hotel.

A Sightseeing Tour of Eger

The second day of our camp started off with a knowledge quiz about Eger, during which we saw some beautiful old buildings of the town. Then we climmbed almost a hundred steps inside an old Turkish minaret to reach the top. Our next stop was a church built by the Minorites, followed by a visit to an exhibition of statuettes, pictures and various objects made of marzipan. After lunch we went to the local college to devote some time to science: we observed the sky and the town with telescopes and we did some physics experiments as well. In the end of the day, the Basilica (which is the second-largest place of worship in Hungary) stunned mentors and students alike with its enormous frescos and magnificient paintings.

Richárd Palkó

After the breakfast, another adventurous day began. Firstly we went to Szerencs, where we’ve walked around the castle of Rákóczi, and in its garden. We could wonder the colourful waterlilies and the hand drivable watermill in the pond. In the Kossuth Museum of Monok we ’ve improved our knowledge with a load of interesting informacions. We could see the days of Kossuth Lajos, we’ve known the secret of his long life: „I never eat more than I just need.” We were glad to visit the Kossuth Museum, as we’ve learnt a lot about him in our 11. study. Then we went to Boldogkőváralja where we saw the castle which was built in the XIII. century. To the narrow gable of the castle, we was leaded by a wood bridge which is looks like a Great Wall of China. At end of the day we wondered one of the oldest hungarian reformed church. On the wall of the church there are a load of different mural from the XII. and XIII. century. We analyzed the copy of the Bible of Vizoly and througth the glasswall we could watch the original Bible. After that we fell into press industry from the XVI. century and we made the first page of the Bible. The other 2411pages will be made by others…. We were part of a fantastic day again and we are forward the continuation.

The 4. day was in the nature

We started our fourth day in cave Baradla, which is the only Hungarian natural treasure, which is said to be the one of the World Heritage. We could walk through a 1,5 kms long phase of the giant cave. We were really amused. In the biggest hall concerts and even weddings are organised. Nevertheless we didn’t have a chance to experience any wedding, but we could enjoy its acoustics. A long serpentine led us to Szilvásvárad. We travelled to the Fátyol-waterfall by „minitrain”, and we made a trip on foot from Szalajka-valley. After dinner we had some free time and could try the pool and we played on guitar and sang until late night.

Call of adventure

Today was the most exciting day of the week. Before noon we walked next to the fabulous lake Sástó. When everybody spent enough time staring the wonderful landscape we headed to the adventure park which lays almost on the cape of Kékes. The first adrenaline rush caught us when we tried the bob lane. After that we got a chance to try other „games”. The most famous were the trampoline, suspension bridge, jetsky, waterball, quad and the bringo bike which is a bike with 3 to 6 seats. Later -thanks to Eszter néni – we explored a park among the mountains where we could feed plenty of chipmunks. It was such an unbelievable moment when they came closer and closer with no fear in their heart. The cape of Kékes was so close, just a few hundred meters, so we conquered it and was such a good decision, we will never forget what we saw there. On our way to home we visited the famous traffic museum in Parádfürdő. The whole day was just amazing.

Gábor, Janó, Gergő

The last day of the camp in Eger

Neither the last day of the camp passed umeventfully. Forenoon we visited the de la Motte Castle in Noszvaj. First we checked the wonderful baroque building and after that came the caveapartments. There was a huge contrast between them. It is such a gratifying thing that even the unknown villages keep and guard their splendid treasures and values in Hungary. Exploring the tiny parts of the cave was a whirl of pleasures to us. There was a cavern where two of us made an extempore mini-concert making the best of the excellent acoustics. The forenoon just slided so fast away, after the delicious lunch ( which was pizza after all) we had some opportunity to relax in the Thermalspa of Eger. By the end of the day wearily but we waited for the match of the World Cup with full of excitement which was seen on a giantic screen in the citycentre. We are glad that we can go home after a week but tristful too because of the coming end of the camp. Fortunately we can meet eachother on the Életút days. Considering all the facts, this camp was the best up to the present time according to a bigger part of the groups.

Meli, Reni, Judit, Móni

Sorry, this entry is only available in Magyar.

[1,6,5,7

post-3251","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-egyeb","category-jaszbereny","category-kaposvar","category-pecs
["GET
