Our camp<\/strong><\/p>\n

We were looking forward to our camp in K\u0151szeg from J\u00e1szber\u00e9ny, Kaposv\u00e1r and P\u00e9cs. The groups quickly moved into the room of the dorm of Jurisich High School and we also started getting to know this beautiful town. At the same time, we are also looking forward to our programmes, like the interactive activities in town, getting to know different bird species, our tour in Chernel garden, climbing \u201e\u00cdrottk\u0151\u201d, the pool party in S\u00e1rv\u00e1r and the \u201eH\u00e9tvez\u00e9r\u201d spring. I\u2019m sure that we will watch football matches, visit downtown and of course we will laugh a lot together. This camp is not only about science, but also about English and German, so we will have some lessons each day and at the end, we will have an oral exam, too, which is going to be really important. We won\u2019t have boring hours spent here, so here we are, K\u0151szeg! Of course, we will write to you every day.<\/p>\n

Today we had a very busy, long day but it was interesting. After breakfast all of us took part in an outdoor activity in T\u00f6m\u00f6rd which is famous for their beautiful birds and a special process called bird banding. It is about marking the birds by putting a tag on their legs in order to identify them later, and registering datas about them like age, weight and physical condition, Furthermore we had the chance to learn new things about special plants and their latin name what we had never heard before. The whole group spent hours in the nature concentrating on things what were around them which made us feel free after the long schooldays.<\/p>\n

After lunch the pupils had some English or German classes with the teachers here in the camp with the help of the older university students from the foundation. The classes were 3 times 45 minutes long so it was a bit easier to sit in a classroom and learn. Moreover the lessons were rather fun and a big game than a compulsory activity.<\/p>\n

In the evening we had time to look around in the city of K\u0151szeg which was amazing, because it was surrounded by huge hills and a mountain, the guides talked about its history, about the people who were living here and about special places and events. Later we had some freetime at the main square so we got to know the place so fast by ourselves.<\/p>\n

Today was a great day. We took part in English lessons in the morning. We worked in three groups and we had different exercises at different stops. On Mr. Ham\u2019s lesson we read interesting stories with tasks. With the leadership of Zsuzsa n\u00e9ni we did criminal investigation. With the Chinese volunteer, Margery, we talked about free-time activities. In the afternoon we attended to science class. We visited the Chernel garden, where we studied interesting things about the life of Istv\u00e1n Chernel. Later we were on an amazing Chemistry class, where we made a DNA of a banana, and learnt more information about the function of DNA. All that was followed by a tasty dinner, and some ice cream. After this beautiful day our knowledge is full of information about the world around us.<\/p>\n

We practically got used to that schedule: language classes in the morning, (fantastic) nature and science programmes in the afternoon and free time with games in\u00a0 the evening. This is how it went today too. In the English classes we continued our Crime project with some detective work in an exciting card game. Another challenge was added to all this by encrypting and decrypting messages and solving riddles about the UK. The German group didn\u2019t get bored either, because they designed, furnished and drew the bedrooms of their dreams. Everybody waited for our big hike in the afternoon with excitement. We were going to climb the highest mountain peak of Transdanubia, \u2019\u00cdrottk\u0151\u2019. Well, what could I say? It felt good to sit down to take a rest on the summit. The viewing tower standing on the top is interesting as the border runs right through it. We entered the tower on the Hungarian side, but the spiral staircase leading up to the top viewing deck was already on the Austrian side. We could enjoy a magnificent view from the tower. Then later we took part in a quiz game about the different plants we had learned about in the previous days. We had had some other quiz questions and tasks in our gamified interactive programmes in past days. The victory ceremony for them also took place on the mountain top today. After dinner for a change we didn\u2019t feel like doing some active exercise. So what was left was card games and browsing through \u00a0photos taken for the Day\u2019s Photo contest. We got tired but it was worth it.<\/p>\n
