Four hours was allotted to complete all of the tasks. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The contest took place in Kecskem\u00e9t between March 14th and 18th inclusive. The event was organised by the B\u00e1nyi J\u00falia Secondary Grammar School, whose students have excelled in this event on past occasions. Two hundred and forty-nine students competed against one another during problem solving exercises in the following fields: geometry, number and game theory, and algebra. Four hours was allotted to complete all of the tasks.\u00a0 Whilst solutions were assessed, the participants enjoyed lectures on the fields of mathematics and physics delivered by teachers from the local high schools. Thirty-one students received a book as a reward and a further forty-six students were awarded a certificate. The day concluded with a theatre performance at the Katona J\u00f3zsef Theatre in Kaposv\u00e1r; the play was \u2018A View from the Bridge\u2019 by Arthur Miller. Though I am currently only in the ninth grade, I participated in the contest and took my chance. I was not awarded a prize this year, however, I will keep working on my skills and try again next year.
