On this day we got to know the area of Tokaj, related to the annual topic of the group, the river Tisza. Before lunch, I showed the kids the geography of Tokaj. At first, they tried placing the city on a map, after which i showed them how close their guesses were. They barely missed the city, it was almost perfectly placed on the map. Then we started talking about the importance of winery in the city, and also how the area of vineyards is much bigger then the actual size of Tokaj. The kids payed a lot of attention, because at the end of the presentation they had a quiz to take, which they filled in really well. “In my presentation I was talking about the traditions of Tokaj. There are many legends related to this city. According to folklore, fairies used to live here as well as swamp wisps. There are also legends of witches used to be living top of the hills, but for most of the kids the most interesting story was about how the mountain was created. According to legend, the mountain was a byproduct of the war of the greek gods and the titans. The legend also tells about how important vine and grapes became to this territory, that’s why it has such an amazing wine culture. . “We finished today’s group activity with Evelin, where we intorduced vine production to them. We started off with some basic information and the children seemed to enjoy it ad they took active part in the presentation. Then we started to go into details on how to make the prrfect wine. After I finished my part Evelin showed them specific types of wine on the presentation, and told them how to distinguish them from one another. We finished the presentation with a quiz as well, on which they also overperformed. At the end of the day Al\u00edz gave them a drama lesson, where they really got to express how they felt during these times, and after with they had a whole lot of fun playing a concentration improving game.” Marcell Seb\u0151k 3rd year Hunagrian-History teacher major<\/span><\/p>\n

They were really informative. The kahooy games for these were really amazing az well. We also talked about the traditions a lot, about what events are there during the seasons. The last presentation was all about the production of wine and the types of grapes. We got to know many different types of grapes. We got to know how wine was made which was really eye opening. The test at the very end was also really enjoyable.
