The groups J\u00e1szs\u00e1g 3 and Nagybajom 2 have successfully arrived in Veszpr\u00e9m. As we were quite tired, we were very happy to have a short break in the afternoon. Everyone needed this time to prepare for the next part of the day, which was the city tour. Our tour guide was very nice and told us a lot of interesting facts about the history of the city of Veszpr\u00e9m, spiced up with interactive exercises. First, in front of the University of Pannonia building, he gave us a lecture about the founding of the school and the faculties that are there today. Despite the distance, we think it’s possible that some of us will go there in the future, as it’s a famous university and the proximity of Lake Balaton is also tempting. After that, we went to the lovely shady park near the Veszpr\u00e9m theatre, where we learned stories about the library next to the park, which used to be the bishop’s pub. After a few group photos we walked to the next place, the Old Town Square in Veszpr\u00e9m. Veszpr\u00e9m is a city of cultures and festivals, which is why part of the Old Town was closed off in preparation for the Veszpr\u00e9mfest. In addition to all this, we saw beautiful buildings on the square and even relaxed while solving playful tasks. It was fun, and quite informative, because our guide nicely structured our sightseeing tour so that he could tell us as much as possible, but not too much. After a quick break we went to see the ruins of the castle of Veszpr\u00e9m, but the rest of the castle is under renovation, so unfortunately we didn’t see much of it. We played here too, and then headed for ice cream, from where we made our way to the dining hall for dinner. This was the last stop of our time in the city centre, and then it was back to the hostel, where we finished the day with some socialising. We were already pleasantly tired on our first day, and we look forward to seeing what the rest of the day brings!<\/p>\n
