On May 6, 2024, the portfolio defense for Kaposv\u00e1r Group 2 took place, followed by the Szeged Group 2 on May 7. The evaluation committee members at both locations included Erika Cs\u00e1nyi, Chair of the Board of Trustees, G\u00e1bor Marosi, R\u00f3zsa Palkovics, \u00c1d\u00e1m Cs\u00e1nyi, and Edward Papp as trustees; Dr. Mikl\u00f3s Radosz\u00e1v, Operating Director; volunteer \u00c1d\u00e1m Balogh; and Students’ Parliament representatives Bor\u00f3ka S\u00fcle and Levente Lassu.<\/p>\n

Here is a chronological account of these notable events:<\/p>\n

Kaposv\u00e1r<\/em><\/p>\n

Three years ago, I had to present before the committee myself, but today I had the opportunity to assist at the portfolio defense of the young members of the K2 group. The preparation process was complex, and I frequently visited the Community House to help with organizing, decorating, and assisting in creating presentations. The significant day was May 6, when all the diligently prepared work had to be presented. As the “system administrator,” responsible for videos, music, and displaying presentations, I listened to the students’ presentations. It was a fantastic experience, especially since, despite knowing each other for a long time, I learned many new things about them. They excel in more areas than they let on. Each presentation was unique, reflecting the personality of the presenter. Some spoke enthusiastically and confidently, while others, despite being more reserved and nervous, passionately shared about their hobbies and talents. There were several emotional moments throughout the day, and I believe I can be proud of my groupmates for their excellent performance, as reflected in the unanimous decision of the committee! After such a taxing event, everyone deserved a well-earned rest. We took advantage of the XI. Children’s and Youth Theatre Biennale that had just started in Kaposv\u00e1r. We bought tickets for several performances, thanks to the Foundation, allowing parents and partners to join us. The first evening featured the play adaptation of the ’89 film “Dead Poets Society,” a deeply impactful story excellently staged, providing a perfect end to the big day. After the play and a great discussion, everyone went home tired but satisfied.<\/p>\n

Dominik <\/em>Antal\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Ten students defended their portfolios, resulting in numerous creative and unique presentations: one student made a giant chessboard, another hid the ingredients of their Foundation life in fortune cookies, another wrote their life to date as an equation on a board, while others used various methods like posters, maps, PowerPoint presentations, and slideshows. An exhibition showcased their diverse talents: students’ awards, certificates, creative works, and personal items were tastefully displayed.<\/p>\n

After the defenses evalutation, the decision was swiftly made: all group members remain part of the Cs\u00e1nyi Foundation’s Life Path Program.<\/p>\n

After Mikl\u00f3s b\u00e1csi announced the results, we had lunch prepared by the Kaposv\u00e1r baking club members and volunteer mothers, maintaining their high standards. We also enjoyed various sweets, pastries, and snacks throughout the day. Thanks to the portfolio defense group’s mentor, Sasa, for organizing this day so smoothly.<\/p>\n

Levente <\/em>Lassu<\/em><\/p>\n

Szeged<\/em><\/p>\n

In Szeged, 14 students evaluated their portfolios this year. Before the personal interviews, the students presented the visible and invisible creatures in our research room in the basement of the Community House and the results of our two-year-long water biology research to the committee and guests.<\/p>\n

The years spent at the Foundation, experiences, and future goals were illustrated through self-made presentations, showcasing ICDL certificates, language exams, and medals earned during their time with the Foundation.<\/p>\n

\nAfter listening to the interviews, the committee decided that all group members could remain in the Guidance Programme. We would like to thank the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, Students’ Parliament, and mentor colleagues involved in the organization for their help in arranging our portfolio evalutaion.<\/p>\n
