Wildlife Photography Summer Camp in Baks 2025

Wildlife Photography Summer Camp in Baks 2025

On the first day of our Photography Summer Camp in Baks (28th July 2025) we started with a meeting and lunch together, during which we discussed the planned programs of the few forthcoming days.

In the next few days we are aiming to provide an opportunity for each participant to gain practice in the most aspects of photography, such as bird, macro, landscape photography as well as creating supermacro insect portraits with stacking. To do so, we are planning to visit various unique territories of the Southern Great Plains of Hungary.

During our one-week-long summer camp we are staying at a hotel in the city of Baks, from which we can easily access all the areas we want to. On the first day we started at the Lake Nagyszéksós near Mórahalom, and then headed towards the River Maros. Unfortunately though, both areas are heavily struck by the current drought, which has resulted in the water levels’ significant decrease. Nevertheless, both sites are still home to dozens of native bird species, which turned out to be excellent themes for wildlife photography.

Our summer camp is primarily centered around highlighting the importance of wetlands, in accordance which we are going to visit several unique wetlands nearby, such as Lake Csaj, Akolszögi Holt Tisza, Mártélyi Holtág, Atkai Holt Tisza, Dong-éri főcsatorna. These sites will be perfect for the participants to practice wildlife photography, both bird and macro photography.

We are really looking forward to this camp.
