Advent Preparation
The Szeged groups spent the weekend together at the Community House. Everyone could find an activity to their liking, from holiday preparations, through science and sports projects, to decorations and mastering kitchen skills from our university students.

“The last math class of the year also took place in the spirit of Advent preparations. On Wednesday afternoon, members of the 6th-grade math competition group worked not only with numbers and formulas but also created handmade, unique Christmas tree ornaments, and then on Saturday, they even designed a Christmas-themed escape room, from which one can escape the IT room by solving logic puzzles. Numerous mathematical concepts came to the fore during the lessons: creating nets of 3D geometric shapes, calculating surface area, and other geometric knowledge played a role. The group also made QR codes for the tasks and even involved artificial intelligence tools in the creative process. At the end of the class, the joint Christmas tree decorating could not be missed either: this time, a special star decorated with the number Pi was placed on the top of the tree, as a worthy conclusion to the experience-filled math class with a festive atmosphere.” Piroska Szabóné André, Professional Officer – Development Teacher
“Together with the older ones, we decorated the Community House. Besides this, there was gingerbread baking, which we then decorated together. This is how we prepared for next Saturday’s Advent Family Day.” Richárd Budai, SZ1
