Advent in Szeged

Advent in Szeged

The three groups of the Szeged Community House held their joint Advent celebration on December 13 in the Community House’s “Knight’s Hall.” The youngest Szeged group prepared a joint singing and poetry performance, while—with the help of the university students—a mathematical escape room was set up in our computer room. The shared family day concluded with many conversations and a joint distribution of gift packages among the three groups, with the assistance of the secondary school students. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Bonafarm Group and the Foundation for our Christmas gift packages.

“This year, the Advent Day was held on December 14 at the Szeged Community House. After the preparations, the house—decorated and stocked with gingerbread—welcomed the families. Following a short opening speech by the mentors and Uncle Miklós, who joined us online on this occasion, the Advent program began for all Szeged groups. Bella recited a poem for us, and our fellow students from Szeged Group 1 sang several songs to create the right festive atmosphere. After that, families ate, drank, and chatted together. Every table was carefully set with festive decorations and treats. Then everyone received their Christmas gift packages, which we later put away together in the downstairs hall at the end of the evening. During the program, we also took a group photo together.”
