Advent in Mohács

“As a fitting close to the year, all three groups of our Community House held their Advent Family Days over the weekend. On Saturday, members of Group 1 and their relatives had the chance to celebrate together. The young people happily leafed through the yearbooks and the interdisciplinary arts publication, recalling the year’s significant events and joyful moments. This was followed by a musical performance by Krisztián Torma, who delighted everyone with a beautiful Christmas melody played on his instrument. Throughout the afternoon, the festive table was filled with ever more delicious dishes and homemade pastries, which were enjoyed with great pleasure, and in the end everyone was happy to take home their large gift package.

On Sunday, the celebration continued with the guests of Groups 2 and 3. By 10 a.m. the house was full, and the Christmas music and cheerful laughter could even be heard out on the street. As the opening of the event, the audience could watch the Christmas performance of Group 3, which they had been preparing for conscientiously for weeks. The poems, the short play, and the Christmas songs all made the already festive atmosphere even more intimate.

The younger and older members of the group also prepared a special surprise for one another, so after the performance they exchanged the gifts they had made with their own hands. Then, to ensure that this year’s Christmas would remain tangibly memorable for them, everyone wrote their name on a mug, symbolizing their sense of belonging. After all the treats had been enjoyed, the day concluded with gift-giving, during which everyone received the Foundation’s Christmas package.”
