Family Day in Badacsony

Family Day in Badacsony

On 15th September all the groups of Kaposvár went on a trip to Badacsony to get to know each other better and to spend a remarkable day together. The following lines depict how our students experienced this weekend gathering.

“The long-awaited day has come: we went to Lake Balaton with our families and mentors. All the group came from Kaposvár. In the morning we got on the buses and went to Fonyód. We got off the bus, bought the tickets and boarded the catamaran. I arrived at the ship a little scared, but at the same time I really enjoyed it. On the way we got a worksheet that had to be completed, and we had to do some tasks like “take a group photo with Tamás Kannás”. The questions were a bit difficult, but the parents helped a lot. We climbed up to the mountain, and we managed to get some information about the painter of Lake Balaton and the famous places of Badacsony. We walked a lot, but it was worth it, as a beautiful scenery welcomed us. On top of the mountain (almost on top) we made autumn decoration from the fruits of the nature. This was mainly done by the parents, we rather played. Fortunately, we had plenty of time to rest and play there. This was followed by the announcement of the results. Then we walked back to the port. We were very tired, but we also enjoyed it. I hope that we will have plenty of opportunities like this one.”

“In the morning we went to Fonyód by buses. Once we got there we sailed to our destination: Badacsony. We started making our way to Rózsakő, while filling the quiz we were given before. At Rózsakő we had the traditional meal (which people usually eat after drinking wine): animalfat spread on bread, with onion on top. After that the winners got announced, who as a reward, get a free dinner at a restaurant. The absolute winner was the youngest group. Some of us went up further to the look-out tower, while others made their way down and looked around the small shops, eat snacks, etc. Then we made our way back home. It was a great day as we could have a lot of fun together with our group mates and family members.”
