We Attended the “Future of Education” Conference
We had the opportunity to participate in the “Future of Education” conference, organized for the third time by the OTP Fáy András Foundation. This year, the theme was the relationship between Artificial Intelligence and Human Capabilities.
Together with numerous committed professionals working closely with the Foundation, as well as hundreds of educators and academics, we listened to renowned speakers following the welcome speeches by Ildikó Csejtei (Managing Director of the OTP Fáy Foundation) and Dr. Lajos Aáry-Tamás.
The keynote speakers included:
-
Dan Fitzpatrick: AI education strategist, author of The AI Classroom and The Infinite Education, and education advisor to the UK government.
-
Dr. Ulla Hemminki-Reijonen: Director of Educational Technology at the University of Helsinki.
-
Prof. Dr. Ingrid Schoon: Director of the Social Research Institute at University College London, and member of the OECD and UNESCO education advisory boards.
In addition to the presentations, two roundtable discussions took place, featuring the speakers alongside:
-
Dr. László Horváth: Associate Professor at the ELTE PPK Institute of Education, Dean’s Commissioner for AI.
-
Pál Bíró: Country Manager of Google Hungary.
-
Dr. Ádám Horváth: President of the Education Next Association, digital education expert and pedagogical-professional leader at EdTech Hungary and Maker’s Red Box.
-
Ildikó Csejtei: Managing Director of the OTP Fáy András Foundation.
The presentations and discussions were simultaneously interesting, confronting regarding the urgency of the issue, and at times even frightening. Their key messages resonated with what all of us in the audience—including us within the Foundation—have experienced and are experiencing firsthand.
Fortunately, they did not only raise questions but also provided reference points and guidance on the path to answers—a path that every educator and professional involved in teaching and upbringing will soon have to traverse.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the OTP Fáy András Foundation for the invitation!
