On the last weekend of March, creative writers arrived in Szeged within the framework of the pre-selection for the 10th All-Arts Camp. On Friday evening, the team occupied the Community House, and then through playing board games and eating toasted sandwiches together, old and new members got to know each other. On Saturday morning, the focus was already on writing and poems. Through various tasks and exercises, the young writers could show their talent to one another and get to know some poetic devices more closely, such as alliteration, anaphora, and the refrain. Under the hands of our young poets, many great works were born during the morning about spring and love. Following lunch, fortunately it did not rain, so we set off on a sightseeing walk, during which I tried to share city history and literary curiosities related to writers connected to Szeged with the team. At the end of the walk, we also stopped by a confectionery for a cake and coffee. After a bit of rest and a light dinner, we went to the theater in the evening to watch My Fair Lady. Everyone enjoyed the performance; afterwards, we talked for a long time about the story and the ending of the musical. On Sunday morning, we said our goodbyes, and everyone headed home enriched with experiences and poems. – Izabella Patyi, Szeged Group 3, university student, section leader

We really enjoyed the weekend. The poem writing on Saturday took place in a good atmosphere, and the tasks were also good. One of the best tasks was when we had to write in a way that as many words as possible started with the same letter. We also enjoyed the afternoon programs. Besides creating, we got to know Szeged during a sightseeing tour, and we also went to the theater and a confectionery. The sightseeing was super; the city is very beautiful. But our favorite was when we went to the theater because the play was wonderful. Thank you for this weekend! – Ramóna Orsós, Pécs Group 1; Violetta Körösi, Pécs Group 1; Enikő Szőke, Pécs Group 3

As a university student, I feel a bit like I’ve outgrown the section weekends, but when the opportunity came to participate again—now as a junior mentor—I was very happy. I always love meeting the other creative writers and creating something great together again. It was no different during this short but eventful weekend. Roughly five poems were completed per person, supplemented with refrains and anaphora, not to mention a new verse form for the younger ones: the villanelle. On Saturday afternoon, as a wind-down from the creative work, we took a short walk in downtown Szeged, and then in the evening, we were able to watch the musical My Fair Lady at the theater. Thank you very much for this truly eventful and memorable weekend! – Laura Albert, Pécs Group 1, university student
