An Enriching Educational Excursion at Bonafarm
In April 2025, the Bonafarm Group and the Csányi Foundation jointly launched a competition entitled “My Favorite Bonafarm Product,” which generated great enthusiasm among the young participants. A total of 90 valid and high-quality entries were received, each showcasing the children’s creativity and dedication.
As a reward for their submissions, all participants were invited on a special educational field trip, which took place on May 28, 2025, at the Csányi Winery in Kisharsány.
The day’s program was opened by staff from the Bonafarm Group, who warmly welcomed the young guests. Upon arrival, participants were treated to delicious Mizo products, including “madártej” (floating island dessert)-flavored cottage cheese bars and various dairy drinks, which quickly became favorites.
Next, the group visited the vineyard, where Csaba Kecskés, Deputy Director of Viticulture and Machinery at Csányi Winery Ltd., gave an interactive presentation about the daily life of viticulture and winemaking. The children got a close-up look at the grape cultivation and wine production processes and even had the chance to sit in large sprayers and observe them in action—a particularly exciting experience for them.
After a morning of learning, participants tested their knowledge in a fun quiz. Everyone received a gift package, ensuring that no one went home empty-handed. The day concluded with a group photo to commemorate the experience.
Here’s how we saw it….
„Today we visited the Csányi Winery, where we had a truly enjoyable and meaningful day. Right upon arrival, we were welcomed with a range of delicious treats: various cocoa drinks, cottage cheese bars, and other Mizo goodies made our morning even more pleasant.
Next, we listened to a fascinating historical presentation about grapes and the Csányi Winery itself. We learned lots of exciting things—for example, that today’s Csányi Winery is the successor to the Teleki Winery founded in the 1880s. After the presentation, we got to see different vehicles. We even sat inside them and were shown how spraying is done, and why the new equipment is more efficient than the previous models.
After that, we participated in a quiz, where paying attention during the presentation definitely gave us an edge.
As a reward for the competition, we received gift packages, which included a gift bag among other things. We had a great time at the winery, and the people there were really kind too. After the program, we went to a playground in Bóly, where we played freely. I think I can speak for everyone when I say we had a great time and were happy to be part of the day in Villány. On the way home, I believe we all felt: ‘What a great day it was!’ We returned home smarter and full of new experiences.”
