Nature Photography in Szeged

Nature Photography in Szeged

Between June 6-8, 2025, we held the second preliminary selection of the nature photography section of the Arts and Crafts Camp in Szeged, where we welcomed our photographer friends from Szentes and Jászság for an exciting day filled with hiking and photography.

The workshop began on Friday evening (June 6, 2025) with a teaching session at the Szeged Community House, where the youngest participants learned the basics of photography, manual settings, and lenses in theory with the help of Szabolcs Turuczki, Anna Benczúr, and Anna Pajor-Vincze.

On Saturday morning, the group from Csányi, Szentes arrived, so with full attendance, we continued our journey to our first photography location near Szeged, the Maty-ér, where we practiced macro photography. Our companion Szabolcs Turuczki also showed the new participants how to use reverse lenses.

After a short breakfast, we visited the buffalo reserve near Mórahalom, where, despite the heat, we managed to take photos of lapwing families leading their chicks.

Following the bird photography session in Mórahalom, we traveled to Mártély, where we had lunch and, after a brief refreshment, captured images of fish fry and riverside plants in the bank zone of the Holtág (dead branch of the river).

After macro photography in Mártély, we drove to the Atka Holtág, where beautiful bird photos were taken again at sunset of feeding night herons and grey herons. Children interested in fishing had another chance to try the secrets of fishing with a spincast rod.
