Together with my team from Festetics Pál Primary and Art School, I represented Somogy County at the national girls’ football finals for age group IV, held in Karcag. Events like this bring together the best young footballers from across the country. During the tournament, one of the coaches from Ferencváros TC noticed my play and invited me to attend a rookie tryout on June 1st.
That day, I travelled with my family to Szállás Street in Budapest. We arrived at a beautiful and well-maintained sports complex, where the pre-registered girls—ranging in age from 8 to 17—were already being welcomed. After registration, we received a Fradi jersey, which we wore during the training session.
The session lasted an hour and a half and included a variety of tasks. We first performed them individually, then in pairs, and finally as a team. I had a great time and proudly wore the Fradi jersey. I was enjoying the game so much that I completely forgot we were being observed. Even though it was a hot day, the time just flew by.
At the end, each of us had to go into an office with our parents, where the coaches shared feedback on our performance. I was invited to return for the July round. They also asked about my team and personal circumstances. The program is part of an open academy, with five training sessions a week and matches on weekends.
It was a great challenge, and I believe I held my own even compared to the players from major city sports centers!
