Freshmen Camp 2025

Freshmen Camp 2025

On July 6, 2025, this year’s Freshers’ Camp kicked off for the youngest Csányi Foundation members from Szentes, Pécs, and Nagybajom.

The little “Csányis” awaited their first camp experience with great excitement and enthusiasm. The junior mentors started the afternoon with icebreaker games, which created a cheerful atmosphere filled with laughter. In the summer heat, swimming quickly became the highlight of the day.

At the end of the afternoon, we enjoyed a shared dinner, topped off with ice cream to everyone’s delight. Then came an exciting three-round game of number war, in which everyone participated eagerly and gave it their all.

To close the day, Uncle András led a joyful football match and other outdoor games. For those who preferred different kinds of activities, the junior mentors offered a wide selection of board games.

All in all, we wrapped up a fantastic first day full of joy and shared experiences.

Throughout the week, the children took part in learning skills workshops and drama-based activities. Even the bad weather couldn’t seriously disrupt the planned programs: the junior mentors replaced football and swimming with relay games, a dance house, and Just Dance sessions.

In the afternoons, the children prepared for the “Freshers’ Factor” talent show, where they had the chance to showcase their talents to the jury and each other during Thursday’s contest, through a wide range of high-quality performances.

On Friday, the camp program offered more than just the “Puszta Olympics.” After a short horse-drawn carriage ride, the children also tried their hand at archery and air rifle shooting.

The young freshers’ first camp ended with a touching and thoughtful closing ceremony. Children were rewarded for various achievements noted during the week — for example, keeping their rooms tidy. In addition to the prizes, each participant received a printed group photo and a photo montage made from the week’s best moments, as keepsakes from this special experience.

“It was a new and special experience to participate as a junior mentor in this year’s Freshers’ Camp. The programs always had a great atmosphere, and I gained a lot of experience and memories. I also tried to bring joy to others in the same way. It was fantastic to witness how a new community came together in just a few days, and I was proud to be part of it. It will remain an unforgettable memory for me.”
