Children’ Parliament meeting
On September 5, 2025, the team-building event of the Csányi Foundation’s Children’s Parliament took place, with every Community House represented. The Kaposvár Group 1 and Group 3 students also participated, presenting their Balaton project. The goal was not only to meet at formal sessions but also to get to know each other better in an informal setting, to build deeper relationships with our fellow representatives, and in doing so, to increase the effectiveness of the Children’s Parliament.
We traveled from Pécs to the beautiful Hotel Carpe Diem, located near the Plázs Beach in Siófok. After checking into our rooms and changing into swimsuits, we went down to the beach, where we played ball games with the junior mentors and swam in the still pleasantly warm waters of Lake Balaton. Later, we also went on the Ferris wheel. In the evening, with the help of Uncle András, we enjoyed a delicious pizza. After dinner, we had some free time, followed by a game of Japanese Activity, where we created the challenges for each other. The teams did really well, and we had countless fun experiences together. I really enjoyed this weekend “getaway,” as I made new friends and could relax.

The next day, due to unfavorable weather, we did not go swimming but instead visited the Siófok Water Tower. There, Uncle Dani told us about Siófok, the Sió Canal, and also showed us the sluice gate. From the tower, we had a stunning panoramic view, and we also visited several interesting exhibitions, learning about the holiday history of Siófok’s local heritage. After lunch, we walked to the port, visited the rose garden and watched the swans, then boarded a sightseeing boat that took us to the middle of Lake Balaton. I really enjoyed the boat trip. Once we docked, we went for ice cream, and finally said goodbye to each other.
It was two truly meaningful days—we are grateful to the Foundation and Hotel Carpe Diem for making this possible!
