The language project development weekend (February 21-22) was held with the participation of the Pécs Group 3 and Pécs Group 1, offering a meaningful and experience-rich program for the participants. The goal of the weekend was twofold: on one hand, intensive preparation of the students for their upcoming language exams, and on the other, connecting with the highlighted theme of this year’s Community House project: environmental protection and environmental awareness. The sessions centered on developing language exam competencies. Through targeted tasks, students practiced:
-
oral communication,
-
listening comprehension,
-
reading comprehension,
-
as well as writing skills.
The project work provided an opportunity for participants to test their language skills in real-life situations while receiving feedback on their strengths and areas for improvement. Small group work and interactive tasks helped build confidence and reduce exam anxiety. The uniqueness of the weekend lay in the fact that language development was closely linked to the Community House’s annual theme: environmental protection and sustainability. Among others, the students processed the following topics in a foreign language:
-
the importance of selective waste collection,
-
possibilities for reducing plastic waste,
-
conscious shopping,
-
energy saving,
-
as well as local and global environmental problems.
They prepared presentations, held debates, created poster designs, and jointly sought solution proposals for eco-friendly habits applicable in everyday life. During the project, not only did their language skills develop, but their responsible thinking was also strengthened.
Snapshots of the project session can be viewed in the Gallery.
