We Went to the Cinema
“In keeping with a tradition of several years, on the last Saturday of every November, members of the Mohács Community House take part in a joint program. We have gone ice skating in the past, and sometimes to the theater, but this year, a visit to the cinema was on the agenda. Fortunately, the morning passed quickly with development classes and the rehearsal for the Christmas show, but to tell the truth, we could hardly wait for the afternoon to arrive so we could take our seats in the cinema. We were excited because the protagonist of the film, Emma, was a 13-year-old—so, a girl of similar age to us—who hangs out a lot with her friends and is on her phone a lot. Actually, it was as if the story was about us. While watching it, we felt like we were on an emotional rollercoaster, seeing the protagonist happy at times, lonely at others, sometimes sad, and sometimes very much in love. By the end of the film, we realized that parents also have private lives, which sometimes turn out differently than we would like, and being an adult cannot be that simple… And love is a stepping stone to becoming an adult…. We had a really super Saturday!”
