Parents’ Meeting for New Students in Nagybajom

Parents’ Meeting for New Students in Nagybajom

On June 5, we held a parents’ meeting at the Nagybajom Community House for the children and their families who were selected during the March admissions process. The attending parents shared with joy how eagerly they had been waiting for the acceptance letter, and how each of them chose to tell their child the good news—that they had been admitted to the Guidance Program. Some of the university students from the Nagybajom Group 1 were also excited to meet the newly admitted “little ones” and their parents. Families were welcomed by Hanna Szép, a university student from Mohács, and our volunteer, Lili Vinczéné Balhási, who also supported the smooth running of the day’s events. We began by watching a short film about the selection process, which brought smiles to everyone’s faces. After the screening, we shared a wealth of useful information with the children and their parents—about the upcoming Freshman Camp, the next steps, and what to expect in the near future. While the parents engaged in the necessary administrative tasks, the children had the chance to get to know each other through fun activities with the junior mentors. During the session, parents completed and signed camp consent forms and the educational agreement, which already included the commitments for the upcoming school year.
