Nyárbúcsú és őszköszöntő a Családi Napunkon
Rather than a welcome to autumn, we intended our family day on August 30 to be more of a farewell to summer in Kaposvár Group 2. For the third time, however, the weather rewrote our plans at Lake Deseda, insisting on attaching the word “autumn” to our day. It washed away our boat trip, the chance to try water sports, and our outdoor grill party. So we stayed in our Community House instead—the planned program may have been ruined, but the pouring rain couldn’t wash away our good spirits.
Our mentor brought along new board games and logic puzzles, which the participants had to solve in pairs. Young and younger alike threw themselves enthusiastically into the brainteasers. We had plenty of board games to choose from, including two brand-new ones that quickly became favorites within the group.
During the afternoon, we discussed the plan for the upcoming school year, the stages of our new project called With Responsibility for the Community, and the timing and methods of the graduation exam and language preparation sessions. Dominik Antal and the junior mentors also presented a unique hiking club program. Based on their description, the new challenge promises to be exciting and full of adventures (something like an outdoor escape room), which will take place in the fall with mixed teams of parents, friends, and students.
We cooked dinner together, while most of the group continued playing board games. Despite the rain and the change of venue, everyone had a good time that afternoon. It was pleasant to be together again, to recharge and gather strength for a school year full of challenges: graduation exams, finishing a bachelor’s degree, returning to high school desks after vocational training to earn the final exam, and preparing for new university admissions. We are facing a busy year, but I hope we will always meet it with the same good humor and mutual support that we shared on this Saturday afternoon.
