Language Competition Oral Rounds
As in previous years, the students of the Csányi Foundation have begun the autumn-winter oral rounds of the Language Competition in English and German at the Community Houses. This is an important milestone for the beneficiaries, as they not only demonstrate their knowledge, but achieving a good result is also crucial for qualifying for next year’s language camps. To this end, the children took their task seriously and took their exams before committees consisting of development teachers and junior mentors.
Jászberény
In recent days, great excitement filled the Jászberény Community House, as the oral round of the language competition took place. The event was conducted over nearly two weeks involving 8 language groups, with the help of 4 development teachers and several junior mentors.

For the 7th-grade students of Jászság Group 2, the exam proceeded with more routine; the children have improved significantly since last year. The older students were also able to demonstrate their knowledge at higher levels; several of them successfully competed at the advanced level.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Foundation and our language development teachers, thanks to whom our knowledge can continuously improve.” (Lili Boglárka Burkus, Jászság Group 4)
Pécs:
On December 5th and 6th, the beneficiaries of the Csányi Foundation in Pécs were able to demonstrate their foreign language skills before two examination committees. The mid-year oral exam is one of the most important stages of the annual language competition.
“The exams once again reflected the momentum and high standards typical of the House. The students gave it their all and made excellent use of the opportunity provided by the exam situation. Just like in previous years, it was a joy to examine the Pécs team this year—we are excitedly waiting for spring to see what further progress they can make!” Krisztián Schneider and Balázs Wensofszky, Pécs Group 3

“The children were able to prove themselves in a live exam situation for the umpteenth time, and it was evident that they had prepared seriously. Most of them showed spectacular improvement, and there were even some who far exceeded the expected level.” Gabriella Andókné Pörnecz, Language Development Teacher

“The A2+ and B1 level exams have taken place, and it was clear that the students are already navigating the exam interface with confidence. They arrived prepared, and as a result, we heard nice, composed responses. Their performance clearly reflected the great amount of joint work and the routine gained from the Foundation’s previous exams.” Csilla Czimondor, Language Development Teacher; Antónia Polgár, Pécs Group 2

Szeged:
During the first week of December 2025 were held the oral exams for the learners of Groups 2 and 3 of Szeged, as part of the Foundation’s English Language Competition. Despite the students’ being nervous prior and at the beginning of the exam, eventually all of them performed very well.

Having arrived fully prepared, their reports were of high quality, on all levels (B1, B2, C1, and the newly introduced C1+, in accordance with the CEFR levels). Few learners had minor problems concerning the tasks, however, I firmly believe these exams are perfect opportunities for them to practice exam situations as such, and thus gain experience. This way they will perform better both at their language exam and in real life. What is more, not only for the students was this a valuable experience, but for me as well since as an English teacher I also need to gain examiner experiences like this.
