Parents’ Forum

Parents’ Forum

The second Advocacy Forum meeting of the year took place at the Szentes Community House. Among the participants were us “older” parents, who could already speak from experience, as well as the parents of the children who were selected in April. Our topic was “motivation,” loss of motivation, and the decline of initial enthusiasm. Many different opinions were shared on the subject. The age of the young participants is also decisive, as during adolescence other “important” factors can hinder their enthusiasm for attending the Foundation’s sessions.

However, we all agreed on one thing: the presence of parents is indispensable in relation to the Foundation as well. It is the parent who supports their child, who sees the opportunities that the young person cannot yet see due to their age. The cooperation between the mentor and the parent results in the active participation and presence of the young people in the program.

We look forward with great interest to the joint annual Advocacy Forum meeting in Mohács.
