Meaningful, Fun, Team-based

The three words in the title perfectly describe our Saturday, May 10th in Kaposvár. We were visited by the team from the OTP Fáy Foundation. During the session, we explored various financial concepts in a playful way. Then, because many of us are approaching further studies, we took a deep dive into student loans and received useful answers to our questions. On this occasion, our parents joined us too, and they participated in the interactive session just as enthusiastically as we did.

At the end of the program, we uncovered the differences between bank accounts through a fun activity. I (along with three of my peers) took on the role of a banker and tried to “sell” my assigned account package. The rest of the group played clients of different ages, who, during the simulated transactions, asked about the most suitable account options for their needs. At the end of the game, there was genuine satisfaction as the “deals” were sealed with a friendly handshake.

The day concluded with a team game led by volunteer Ádám Balogh, who turned logic puzzles into a hands-on challenge. Armed with a roll of tape and a limited number of wooden skewers, we had to build the tallest tower as efficiently as possible. The competition was intense—each of the three teams reached the ceiling, with only millimeter differences between the towers built using different strategies. Naturally, heated debates broke out over the importance of base stability versus overall height, and there was lively discussion about prioritizing the end goal or the method of execution.

(In three words:) It was a meaningful, fun, and a great team-based weekend.
