World Robot Olympiad Tournament

Because of the knowledge and experiences I gained through the Csányi Foundation, I decided at the beginning of the year that I wanted to take part in the World Robot Olympiad with my friends. In the spring, Team-Durga was formed and registered for the competition.

In May, we participated in the WRO preliminary round in Budapest, from which we successfully advanced to the national finals. Our project, which is currently in the prototype phase, is called EmBear—short for Empathy Bear. It is designed to help individuals with autism recognize the emotions of their communication partners based on non-verbal cues, all built into a teddy bear.

With this innovation, we competed in the national finals held in Győr, which was a two-day challenge. It wasn’t easy, but we gave it our all. And our efforts paid off—we managed to qualify for the world finals in Singapore, which we’ll attend in November.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Foundation for its support.
