Children’s day in Mohács

Children’s day in Mohács

“On Saturday we celebrated Children’s day and of course our whole day was in connection with our yearly project theme: choosing our carrier. It came as a surprise that our old-time dream came true: our mentors invited Emese Hegedűs and her search dog, Bukfenc. They presented through different tasks how they can help finding missing people or objects. Through our odor pattern the puppy found everybody within a very short time period, that is why in disaster situations such dogs can be a huge help. Bukfenc was very disciplined, observed and fast during his “work”. We were enriched with a lot of interesting information. We also learned that this kind of dogs can distinguish more than 11 million odor patterns and store them in their mind. Finally we gave Buki plenty of treats. I considered it a great experience since I am currently studying in a law enforcement vocational high school and like this I could be a part of it in real life not only saw it  through movies or through hearsay. After the serious programme in the morning we enjoyed the most delicious pizza in our city in a calming environment.” Hanna Szép and László Szabó, Mohács group 1.
