Hike to the Danube Bend
“On Thursday, we spent an unforgettable day with part of our group in the Danube Bend. We set off from Visegrád on a boat trip toward Dömös, and from the very first moments, we felt that this day would be something special. As we sailed on the Danube, we were surrounded by a stunning landscape of rolling hills, and the Visegrád Citadel towered above the mountains—a breathtaking sight.
After passing Nagymaros and Zebegény, we got off at the Dömös stop and strolled along the riverside, laughing a lot and skipping stones to see who could make the most bounces on the water. It didn’t take much to create a good mood—just us, the river, and a few well-aimed pebbles. We fully switched off, leaving all worries and uncertainties behind.
Later, we sat under the trees, and somehow the nostalgia just came naturally. We reminisced about the past years, the long night talks, the endless laughter, and the camp shenanigans. It felt like it was just yesterday, though many years have passed. Now, after graduation, we’re closing a chapter. Over these eight years, we’ve shared countless projects, study sessions, travels, stories, and goals. We’ve changed! We’re no longer the silly kids playing football. Now we’re standing at the threshold of adulthood—somewhat nervous, yet curious about what lies ahead. One thing is certain: the bond we’ve built can never be taken from us. It will stay with us forever.
At the end of the day, we took a gentle stroll through the cobbled streets of Szentendre, singing:
“At night on the cobbled roads, I saw a group having fun…”
We wrapped up our day together with a well-earned ice cream by the Danube.
Thank you to the Foundation for this amazing day, and for the past eight years!”
