Advent in Pécs
The second weekend of December is traditionally held as a family day in the community house in Pécs.
Parents, mentors and the children all prepare together to celebrate Christmas together with great food, music and presents. After the programmes, the gift packs and the posters, the yearbooks are given out.

The community house was bustling with noise and excitement on 4th of December as the children dressed in costumes were preparing for their performances. It was their first year together. They had been practicing for their programmes in front of their parents. Everyone got a big applause. After the performances the feast, provided by the parents, began. At the end of the day, the gift packs and yearbooks were handed out to the children. We thank everyone for their support, but especially our drama teacher Zoltán Papp without who none of this could have been possible.

On 5/12/2015 we visited Csoko-lada, a handmade chocolate factory in the city centre and could see and participate in making chocolate ourselves, with the help of the owner of the shop. After returning to the community house wd tasted and admired each other’s cakes and dessert,then looked through the new yearbook and got our gift packs, made Christmas decorations and enjoyed the afternoon together.

The Advent Christmas family programme was held on 6th December 2015. First we had chocolate tasting and chocolate making in the Csoko-Láda factory. After returning to the community house, our 4 short films, created with the help of Microsoft, were shown to the parents the first time. After that, we spent the afternoon together eating cakes, playing games, and chatting. In the end, the yearbooks, calendars and gift packs were given out. We thank everyone for this wonderful time and wish everyone a merry Christmas.
