A ‘musical-dancing’ afternoon in Jászberény

A ‘musical-dancing’ afternoon in Jászberény

This day (19. October) was about talking and listening to other experiences for us. It was rather good for the university-goers to be together int he community house because we don’t meet so often.

The little ones were also here and it’s quite weird to see such young students, therefore we always think about the ’old times’…  This time we could meet Beth Mattingly,a university teacher  coming from America. She’s doing a research in Hungary and studying the Kodály-method for her thesis for the doctor’s degree. Beth gave us a little bit of introduction to music studies, because she also teaches music in America. Then she taught us some American folk dances that were very good fun. Than we had lunch, and during having it, we continued talking with her. The little ones also tried to join the conversation. All in all, we had a funny day together in the community house. Thank you!

We learnt some folk dance in English, here in Jászberény.

This morning we were looking forward to Beth coming to the community house. Firstly, she showed us a power point presentation about music and of course she spoke English. We understood a little bit of her presentation, but fortunately Kinga translated it into Hungarian. When we danced,it was really good. Beth taught us American folk dances. We danced together with the old ones, who are attending university. We are friends with Beth on facebook, and we found it out by ourselves and we explained it to her without any help. Anyway, we had a very good fun and we are happy to have a new friend from America. We would like to say thank you to the Foundation.
