English competition

English competition

I was more than excited on that particular day. Believe it or not, something extraordinary happened.

I love learning English and I greatly enjoyed the language competition organised by the Foundation. I am attending the Eighth Grade. The best secondary school of Kaposvár, called Táncsics Mihály, invited the Eighth Graders to participate in a language competition.

The tasks did not cause me any difficulties in the language competition because the language teachers regularly practice with us (usually with more difficult tasks) – so I can say that I was well prepared. I was satisfied after the competition, but I was still curious about my result. A few days later, the phone rang and one of the grammar school teachers informed me that I was one of the three students that had won, but she did not reveal my exact rank. The three of us were invited to a ceremony and I was more than excited on that particular day. Believe it or not, something extraordinary happened: there wasn’t a third place or a second place, but three first places. The three of us had the same points so we all shared first place! My prize was a diploma and a book written in English (Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson). I was so happy! I know that, without the support of the Csányi Foundation, I wouldn’t be able to achieve this result. The Foundation assures us a variety of programmes which help us to improve our knowledge in many fields in a friendly and relaxing environment. If we learn well and achieve a high performance, we are awarded with a place on a language course held in Brighton, England, during the summer. I am so pleased that I am a member of the Foundation, where the mentors and teachers are providing everything at the highest level.Thank you for everything.
