Cranes, prizes, experiences

Cranes, prizes, experiences

On the 9th and 10th Nov 2018 Group 2 of Szeged participated in the Lake Fehér Cranewatching organized by the Kiskunság National Park.

We went to Mackási-gyep, near Sándorfalva with the younger members of our group, and starting our tour there.

The cranes fly to that area to spend the night there in safety, thus it’s the perfect spot to observe them. As the Sun went down, we left and went straight to Postakocsi Csárda where the winner photos of an earlier photo contest were exhibited.

Here was my picture, too as I was awarded with a special award for it in Youth Category, for which I was very glad. After the prize-giving ceremony we had a dinner there with the other photographers and park rangers.

We also talked about the next day’s contest in which we all three participated (Luca Berta, Anna Benczúr, Szabolcs Turuczki). The following day we got up before sunrise in order to arrive at Lake Fehér early so that we would be able to see the morning beauty of the landscape. During the day besides cranes we also have seen grey herons, Anatidae and frogs. After we picked our smaller groupmates up, we went back to the Lake, nominated for the Photo Contest and went on another hiking during which we could teach the smallers some intricacies of photography. In the evening it turned out that me and Szabi were awarded for Animal and Crane categories.

I feel very happy for that and I would like to thank for the Foundation that I could be here.
