An afternoon with Ellen Litwicki PhD

On the 6th of November guest professor Ellen Litwicki PhD from New York University of Fredonia, New York spent her afternoon with us to talk about Halloween, its roots and about The Day of the Dead and how these events are celebrated around the world. Did you know that Halloween has European roots as well? Or years before the well-known phrase ‘Trick or treat’ pranks sometimes were closer to vandalism than to tricks. Thus town principals tried to control kids’ and sometimes adults’ tricks to a normal level. Today, festivals, parties and of course, candies are the most notable elements of Halloween. We also got some traditional trick or treat candies from Hellen.
