Hagyományos óévbúcsúztató

On 28 December, we got together to say our goodbyes to the old year, summarize, and share our resolutions and plans regarding the new year at the community house of Kaposvár. It is not new for us to meet it he time period between the two holidays. I think I can say that it has became one of our traditions. We always have something to say, for example talking about how everyone celebrated Christmas. Last year, at our pre-New Year’s Eve party dancing and music were the most determining programmes. This year’s get-together was characterised by unexpected guests, playing boardgames until dawn, and conversing. Our guests were those members of the foundation who have finished their Guidance Programme, and now we could quiz them about their interesting jobs. It was great to see them and finally talk to them without boundaries!

We tried to humour the team with homemade snacks and sandwiches that we prepared together. Some of the participants seized the basement -this was us, the younger ones- where an unplanned foosball championship and playing boardgames (specifically a game called “Werewolf”) took place. While we were having fun downstairs, from the voices we could hear, we suspected that the adults were not bored upstairs either. Time to time, huge laughers interrupted the susurrus of chatting. We all had a great time, and in addition to playing, we also talked about serious topics, such as the Talent Selection, portfolio evaluation and language exams that are to come, as well as the tasks we faced in our first exam period, and what our plans are for this summer. Next time, a part of the group will meet in English and German lessons, as their first challenges next year are going to be their language exams. On 6 January, we will begin the new year on occasion of completing the ‘Three kings’ hike, with the entirety of the group, as well as parents, friends, and educators. We wish everyone a very successful and lovely New Year!
