Délvidék

Délvidék

1th day – On Monday morning we set off from our Community Houses, we met at Mohács, went on together to Délvidék. After the bordercrossing we went to the Kopaci Rit which is a national park in Croatia. We saw different kinds of animals which are in danger and there is a fear of extinction from this. We saw the cormorans’ technic how  these birds eating the fishes from the water and how to protect their area from  eagles and how to wait there food the grey gém. After a long journey and a bordercrossing we have found ourselves in Beograd and had a great lunch. Because of the big heat and the long journey we went early to bed because we had to be very fresh for the tomorrow’s sightseeing in Beograd.

2th day – On the second day we had a sightseeing and our local tourguide was Ana. We visited the renewned institutions and memorial places. During the morning we went to the Nándorfehérvar fortress (Kalemegdán-fortress). It was a heatwave, so we had an ice-cream that refreshed us. Then we travelled to our accomodation which located in Herhulesfürdő. While we was heading to Herkülesfürdő, we stopped at Galambóc-fortress. Honestly it was the most beautiful view what we have ever seen.  In the evening we arrived at our accomodation.

3th day – We started our journey to Orsova, where after the daily shopping we had a 4 hours long boat trip on the Danube. We visited the Iron Gate and sailed trough the narrowest, where river is 150m wide and the deepest point, where it reach the 80m. The huge cliffs and the Danube’s fast flow meant unsolvable problem for the sailors in the 19th century. After lunch, we had opportunity to have a bath in the small stream of Herkulesfürdő.

4th day – We repacked our luggages and continued our long journey after the breakfast. Our first destination was Temesvár. We walked hours in the city center. The tourist attractions are found in two parts of the city: north part of the city was built in the 18. century, Baroque stylish Piata Unirii, south part was built in a secession, Piata Victoriei which is the main square. Land agent HQ is located in the main square and the locals call it Baroque palace. That building has an exhibition which give place for european masterpieces. From Timisoara we went to Róka-tanya which was the accomodation the rest of the week.

5th day – Today we travelled to Palics, a village near our farm accomodation. The village is located in a beautiful area, we spent most of our time at the lake of Palics. Some of us tried the paddle boats and there were even some who circle cycled the lake. This countryside is a real disengagement. In the afternoon we visited the local zoo. After arriving back to the farm we went to have a bath in the lake and even went to boat. Our hosts at the accomodation prepared us with a really tasteful and delicious dinner. The locals entertained us with a concert, we had a nice evening with a campfire.

6th day – We visited Szabadka today as a main program. First we had a little freetime for shopping in the market. At 11 o’clock we met our local hungarian guide, who accompanied us throught the town and showed us its sights. We liked eminently the town hall. After lunch we went back to the accomodation to have a little rest. Before dinner we tried horse carriage on the roads nearby.

We had a joyful week with long travels and nice experiences. We had a great time while we got to know the history of Délvidék. Thank you!
