Researchers’ Night in Pécs
The night of the fourth Friday of every September is the so called Researchers’ Night. Curious visitors could choose from a multitude presentations, experiments and exhibitions. On 26th September the event took place in two venues, the University of Pécs and the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter.
We saw exciting physical experiments, baked with cold, froze with warmth. There were spectacular experiments with dry ice and microwave oven. Later we listened to a presentation about healthy living (the 12 milestones of healthy living, the essential nutrients, the main diets, mistakes about diets, food pyramid, rainbow, preparation methods, functional foods etc.) We also participated an interactive quizzes related to our lifestyles, BMI (body mass) followed by a food tasting. Visiting the botanic gardens and the greenhouses we collected much useful information as well as fantastic experience. The park was the garden of the Jesuit Pius, and in 1952 preparation began to turn it into botanic gardens, upon the foundation of the Biology Department of the University.
Just like last year, all the family members joined us too in the great event to experience the experiments.
