Here we are again

Here we are again

Tuesday – (10th July) The Picturesque village in Romania was a fascinating start for the summer camp in 2018. The children started coming from different locations of Romania with their bags filled with week’s clothes. All of them are so much energetic and their eyes are filled with excitement, showing the anxiousness to start the summer camp at earliest. I, myself was amazed to see this. I, on the other hand, was waiting for this moment with so much of happiness. As scheduled, we started the camp with some elderly and wise gentlemen’s speech.

We commenced the program with the order of the scheduled programs. I have made some activities myself for these wonderful children. In addition, I was so much happy as all loved it. I made new friends as well. We all went to play bowling, it was amazing. All loved it. Here we were like one family. My heart is filled with joy and love. The children loved what we made for them. I got some loving appreciated cards addressed for me. Actually, this is the success, I feel just from the first day of the summer camp program I have achieved a lot and the rest of the mentors and senior students were amazing and so friendly. It is so great to work with them. We always work as a team and I believe we always succeed. Chathura Chamupathi, volunteer from Sri Lanka

Wednesday (11th July) – Our day was exciting. After moving our joins, we had breakfast. It was essential, as we needed some energy for the day to learn. The English classes went well, the kids learnt hard. Each tutor tried to pass knowledge with his/her own method. Some had role plays, some memory games – one is for sure we all loved and enjoyed memorising the material. Following our daily routine we ate our lunch and had quite time, where we all could have a rest or learn the lesson we have covered in the morning. The afternoon went smoothly as we had DIY and Mrs Edina showed us some really interesting way to make surprises and presents to our loved ones. As evening approached each and every child found activities for its taste. Some cheered for his/her favourite football pitch, others played board games, played the guitar and sang songs. Having a tiring awesome day, it was not difficult to send the campers to their bedroom to sleep.

Thursday (12th July) – This morning gymnastic was instructed by our Sri Lankan volunteer Chathura. The weather was just perfect outside in the garden. Following the breakfast our kids went into classes. The atmosphere were innate as we had small groups. I was really touched as the kids have learnt what we have covered during the previous day. That means they learnt all the vocabulary. During the morning we could welcome some guest from Kovászn county, who happily observed the kids, and our programme. We started our lunch by praying and enjoyed the tasty food. During the afternoon, we visited Sándor Daniel who let us make our own pottery. Arriving home, we loved eating our lovely evening meal and finished the evening by playing volleyball, football, taking photos, and watching a lovely carton. Kiss János, Pécs 1. volunteer

Friday (13th July) – In the morning the weather was splendid. After breakfast we went to have our classes. After our morning hours we visited the place called Mikó vár, where we had spent an hour getting known how life is in the old times. The programme was finished by an interesting quiz. The evening  brought us several happy hours playing outside in the garden.

Saturday – 14th July The day has started with the daily refreshing exercises, which woke us up. After breakfast the classes had started, which seemed endless because we have been looking forward to go to swim to Tusnádfürdő. The two hours we have got to enjoy swimming had gone so fast, we didn’t realize that times has gone so quick. Everyone loved this program, it helped us to stick together more. As everyone came out of the water wo started to collect all the stuff we had and we came back to the camp. We got some free time. After dinner we had two interesting presentations by Chatura and Margaery about the cities they live in. We got some interesting information about their cities but also about the culture. After these presentations we went to have a shower and went to sleep because the day have been tiring.

Sunday – 15th July we are almost at the edge of the summer camp 2018. The day started with the energetic morning exercises and after a small break of about 30 minutes we all had our breakfast all together as one family. Today was the exam day for the children, they were all tested from the areas that we have taught them. Impressively they did not let us down. Soon after lunch we set off to a camp where all the children could climb up in the trees on the ropes using all the best safety processes. Had a wonderful time in there and we all set back to our camp to watch the world cup finals. By now we have built up a good relationship with the kids and knowing its almost the end makes us all sad  but in the good side we have made new relationships and we as a Foundation has made the children feel that they are never alone and we have given them the trust that they need to move forward in all the difficulties. I am so much happy and proud to be a part of the Foundation. That’s the reason I came back for the second time. Looking positively to do my best for the Foundation and the children who are in need of a helping hand. Chathura Chamupathi, volunteer from Sri Lanka

I will separate from these kids very soon, we have been together for one week, and it will never be enough for me. We had a talent show on 15th July, our kids are really amazing! Some kids can dance, some of them are good at singing, there are two girls who are fond of photographing, and these photos are really nice. There is a girl who likes to play guitar, we performed together during the talent show, she is really amazing and I can see she is really talented, she is born to be a musician. I feel glad to stay with these kids, although they may have different backgrounds, but I can see they are optimistic, kind and talented, they will have great lives in the future. Some of the kids also made some gifts for me, they made some cards and wrote letters to me, I am so moved. Only God knows how much I want to be a kid, but I have already grown up, when I stay with them, I feel like I am a kid, that is really lovely. How lucky can I meet these amazing kids. Monday, 16th of July    During the whole year, I am very very looking forward to this camp, because this love that I can get here is really important and nothing can substitude it. The days we spent together were extraordinary! It was so nice to have these kids around. I was a junior mentor so I  could teach English to these children. I really would like to say thank you to the Foundation about giving me this chance to come here again. I also would like to thank the kids that I could spend a week with them.

For me this week was very exciting. These kids were amazing. Every day I tried to teach the kids the best I could do. I would like to say thank you to the Csányi Foundation for this camp. I hope that I will come back next year.

What I got in this camp is utterly different from what I expected. These kids are unbelievably kind-hearted, nice and eager. We learned a lot but played even more and we had a lot of fun. I really liked this week and now I can honestly say that I love these kids. I think the best part is that they love us as well, for the reason that they said farewell to us as if we were their parents. I tried to solace them and I myself by saying “do not cry because it ended, be happy because it happened”. I also told them to think about only the good things that they experienced here and so will I.

Kiss János Imre, Pécs 1

It is really hard for me to say goodbye after spending a week with these kids,we just met and then we have to seperate from each other, when I saw them leaving from the camp,I cannot stop crying. If u give love to the kids, they will give much more love in return, that is why I am fond of being with kids, they are naive and lovely. This is the best memory of my life,I will try to come back one day.

The last day of the camp in which we wanted the time to go as slow as possible. It was a new day where we all were very close sharing things with each other. Final goodbye was the most difficult all the words were expressed with eyes. As a part of the Foundation I’m so much happy for the work that we did together to brighten up our kids as they are the future of the nation. I am looking forward to be with all again.
