Culture, learning, entertainment

A nice day in Budapest

Group 3 from Szeged paid a visit to Budapest where we devoted time to culture, learning and entertainment.

We set off early morning to Budapest where our first destination the refurbished Vigadó was. The curator, Mendelényi Zoárdné took us around in the building. We saw the exhibitions of Schremmel Imre and Makovecz Imre. We walked up the main stately staircase of the building to the concert hall then we took the elevator to the top floor to have a look on Makovecz Imre’s works and the model of an unbuilt church.

After the Vigadó we took a stroll along river Danube up to the Széchenyi Chain Bridge and headed to our next destination, to the Campona. After a quick lunch we sit into a mixture of cinema and theatre, called Time Traveller, and got first-hand experience about the Reform Age in Hungary, the Apollo programme and the Industrial Revolution. We closed the day in the Tropicarium where we saw many unusual species, mostly from the tropic areas and we also saw the wildlife of the oceans. The giga sized fish tank featured the rarest sharks and rays and many other beautiful fish.

At the end of the day we had yoghurt ice-creams and headed back to Szeged with full of memories that we will remember for a long-long time.
