On 29 June we arrived safe and sound to Brighton.

Tomorrow the BISS language school will welcome all the candidates, who mastered the Foundation’s language competition (level B1). After taking off, we travelled nearly 2 hours until we arrived to our destination. This evening will be for getting know the host families and exploring the neighbourhood.

First day we had a long and exiting journey to London. We really enjoyed the flight. We arrived to Brighton wearily and relieved. The host families came to pick us up to the school. The families were really waiting for us, and they were so kind and opened-minded. We spent the evening at their homes where we got to known each other.  After the delicious dinner we went to sleep. It was a lovely ending of the day. Next day we told each other our new experiences. The hole group was content and happy. The headmaster “Big Jim” gave us meaty account of the school rules. After that we wrote a test, which we hope will be good. In the afternoon we walked to the centre of the town. Our goual were the pier, the beach and the most visited places in the city. We had a really good time together, and we were excited, because of the evening party. After having dinner at home we went to the party, that we really enjoyed. All in all it was a fantastic day and I think this week will be too short for us. We are waiting for tomorrow excitedly.

The second school day in England. We were a bit nervous, because we wrote the placement test yesterday and today we got the results. My teacher’s name is Ruth and I am attending the group called dolphins. During the lesson we talked a lot. With the help of the tasks we got to know the group members, who were from different parts of Europe. After working hard we had lunch. Following that we continued our day at the Sea Life Centre. It was great fun, we enjoyed it. In the evening we went back to the host families, where we had our supper.

The third day welcomed us with pleasant weather. After having breakfast, we went to school, where we had enjoyable English lessons. For our afternoon programme we needed towels, and spare clothes. It was awesome kayaking with my friends. Our leader taught us the basic signals after which there was nothing else to do, just to pop into our “boats” and head into water. We loved every single moments of the afternoon. In the evening the school organised a party where we were invited as well. Thank you for this lovely day.

On the fourth day we had classes in the morning, but today it was different. Besides doing the usual reading tasks, we talked with students from other countries, which is, in my opinion, the best way of learning a foreign language. Both our teachers and our classmates are very nice and friendly. We also had extra-curricular activities, as we got introduced to the pre-school students of Dorothy Stringer School, and we had to teach them Hungarian words which we really enjoyed because it was very funny to hear Hungarian words with English accent. In the afternoon we went to the cinema to see the latest film, Noah. Everyone liked it a lot, especially action film lovers. Then everybody went home to relax so tomorrow we would be able to focus on studying. I think today was a nice day.

Day five: This day was just as good as the others. Our teachers were kind, the school was nice and the classes were exciting. We took part in many interesting team building activities. At the end of our last school day we got our certificates and played games. In the afternoon we went to the park to play water baloon and egg games. Later we also played football with the other students, which was exciting. While we were playing different games, the teachers of the school were making us BBQ. At the end of the day we went on a ride on the „Brighton Wheel” and we could enjoy the beautiful view of the whole city.

Our team spent its last day in Brighton. Unfortunately because of the bad weather we had to skip our original program, the mackerel fishing trip. Instead of that we said good-bye to Brighton with a sightseeing tour. After having lunch we headed to the painting pottery café. It was great fun making our own ornament which will always  remind us to the lovely days spent here in Brighton. The day finished on the bowling court. We loved every miniutes of that. Time went by so quickly and we had to go back to our host families. Now the only thing which has to be done is packing our suitcases. Thank you very much for the Foundation that we could be part of this experience.
